Who We Are

Solid Ground Masonry and Concrete, Inc was started by Henry Vargas (CA Lic#1053-53-4). A native of Costa Rica, Henry has worked with stone and concrete since he was a young man working alongside his father who was also a contractor. In the U.S. Henry apprenticed under a well-known stone mason in Bolinas, California for four years and learned the masonry trade. He also worked as a foreman for a concrete engineering firm in Lafayette, California for five years. He has been working independently for the past three years as a stone mason and concrete contractor. He is an expert in residential/commercial drainage and city codes. Solid Ground excels at building patios, retaining walls, foundations, driveways, sidewalks, pool decks and more. His goal is to have his work represent the intersection between function and aesthetic.
